Just a stone's throw from the central station, you can meet the greatest chefs and flavour lovers in search of new spices carefully selected by Sandrine Vasselin, the founder of Misao.
Sandrine has always wanted to have an impact on the region where her mother came from, Kivu in the DRC. Through her aunts, she discovered Kivu pepper, a wild pepper with a strong character. She saw a real opportunity in a region at war and where people often have little hope. She then decided to set up a cooperative with the aim of growing and importing spices from the DRC. An idea she has been developing since 2015 and in 2018 she officially launched Misao, a spice import company for chefs and food lovers looking for quality products and spices. The spices are produced in the DRC by a cooperative that now has about sixty families and communities.
Sandrine also offers a series of other spices and products that are the result of collaborations with artisans and chefs, such as a pepper coffee with Otara or a beer with Cantillon.
